Copying devices

You can reuse a parameterised device via copy and paste.

  1. Start editing the real-time application.
  2. In the menu bar, click Devices.
  3. In the device tree, right-click on the device you want to copy.
  4. In the context menu, select Copy.
  5. In the device tree, right-click on the bus system into which you want to paste the copy of the device.
  6. In the context menu, select Paste.

    If Paste is not displayed in the context menu, you cannot paste the device into this location.

  1. A copy of the device and its parameter settings is added to the end of the selected bus system. Where applicable, a new device address and a new instance name is generated for the copy.
